The Oakland Youth Chorus offers a variety of programs for children and youth ages 5-21 throughout Oakland. OYC's unique approach combines repertoire from cultures around the world, professional performance opportunities, a solid foundation in music theory, and the chance to make friends from all over Oakland and the East Bay.
In addition, OYC offers its classes with affordable sliding scale prices. Families are encouraged to determine what they can afford within a class's price range.
Finally, the Oakland Youth Chorus also partners with schools and community organizations to provide quality music education programs, including choral music, drumming, and dance. Our current community partners include East Bay Asian Youth Center, East Bay Agency for Children, Lighthouse Community Charter and Think College Now Elementary. For information about arranging a regular OYC class at your school, after-school program, or community-based program, please see
