By giving to OYC, you will bring the gift of music to children and youth who may otherwise not be able to experience the joy of making music with others.
Provide a Miracle Chorus, percussion, or dance class for fifteen elementary school students for an entire school year.
Students will gain an appreciation of music from cultures around the world, and will increase understanding of the musical traditions of their own cultures and those of peers. They will learn music and performance skills based on California state standards, they will improve their school attendance, and they will have fun!
Buy drums and other musical supplies for an entire percussion class of elementary school students.
OYC percussion classes feature master teaching artists from Africa, Latin America, and around the world, sharing the music of their native cultures with the children of Oakland.
Sponsor one young person to participate in the award-winning high school Concert Chorus or Middle School Magic Chorus for one year
These gifts will make OYC accessible to youth who couldn’t otherwise afford it

Many OYC youth have never been out of the Bay Area, this is a great opportunity for them to see other parts of the country, bond with their peers, and gain valuable performing experience with OYC’s award-winning choruses.

This advanced ensemble is made up of youth and young adults who have high level musical skills and are learning advanced harmonies and performance techniques.
